BCSMC’s Topic of the Month: You

May 1, 2009

Whilst the Black Country Social Media Cafe is an informal event, we like to include a bit of structure so your experience is not wholly dependent on the people you happen to talk to.  Last month we had a talk by Chris Unitt and Pete Ashton as our centre piece, this month we want to hear from YOU: Either an example of how social media has worked for you, or how you hope it will work for you. Hearing from everyone is the sort of thing we can only do before the BCSMC gets too big, so now seems the best time to do it.

We aim to have a quick turn around the room with everyone just giving their name, job, and a quick example of how social media has worked for them (either professionally or socially), followed by a short discussion on what we have heard. Not only will this help people find others within the group to talk to, but it will hopefully be used in the promotion of the group. We will film those who are happy to be filmed (there will no cajoling) and put the videos on the web site to show visitors the eclectic mix that makes up the Black Country Social Media Cafe.

This month’s cafe (sponsored by CADRE) is on Tuesday 12th May, 2.30 pm,  at Alchemy. A map can be found on the sign-up page here.

If you have any ideas about future BCSMC meetings, let us know.
